New Data Center Supporting Port Shipping Operations
RES & Associates is delivering comprehensive MEP engineering for a new 1,147-square-foot data center supporting shipping operations at APM Terminal in San Pedro. Port logistics run continuously, and the systems housed in this room govern the movement of cargo — which put redundancy and uptime at the center of every design decision.
Our electrical team designed the service, distribution, and rack-level power with UPS and generator-backed redundancy, along with grounding and bonding to data center standards and comprehensive monitoring. Mechanical design provides precision cooling matched to projected rack density with redundant capacity and managed airflow, while fire detection and suppression interfaces are coordinated with the facility's life-safety systems through construction administration.
