Project Scope & Engineering Execution

RES & Associates provided comprehensive MEP engineering for Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory 3 in Room 2418 at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. At 2,300 square feet, the scope covered the procedure room together with its control room, equipment room, and support spaces — a suite where interventional cardiology is performed on patients whose condition allows no tolerance for a power interruption or an environmental excursion.

‍

Our electrical design delivered the essential electrical system distribution serving the suite, dividing critical branch, life safety, and equipment branch loads with emergency power transfer, and providing the isolated power system and line isolation monitoring required for a patient care procedure area. The design also covered imaging equipment feeds, surgical and ambient lighting with scene control, and communications and nurse call infrastructure. Mechanical engineering delivered the high air change rates, pressure relationships, and temperature and humidity control a procedure environment demands, with plumbing and medical gas service coordinated throughout and the full package documented for state healthcare authority review.
