Project Scope & Engineering Execution

RES & Associates provided full MEP engineering for the replacement of the MRI scanner in Room 2350, one of the most utility-intensive rooms in the hospital. The design addressed the complete service envelope for the new magnet: primary power, magnet cooling, quench venting, and the environmental stability the manufacturer requires for consistent image quality.

Electrically, our team engineered the high-capacity feeder and disconnect arrangement, RF-room penetration details, and filtered power to protect the magnet from harmonics and voltage disturbance. Mechanical design re-worked chilled water and dedicated cooling to the magnet and equipment room, while plumbing coordinated condensate and cryogen-adjacent routing — all sequenced so neighboring diagnostic rooms stayed in service
